Community Service

Children and teens learn important lessons in responsibility and accountability while completing court-ordered community service hours through Volunteers for Youth’s community service program.

Program details

With the guidance of Volunteers for Youth staff members, youth find meaningful work opportunities at nonprofit worksites where volunteer supervisors oversee and evaluate their work. VFY staff also organize group events such as park clean-up projects that benefit the community and offer additional work opportunities for participants.

Participation in the community service program is limited to youth who are referred by a judge, juvenile court counselor, or law enforcement official.
